#Thankful for #HipHop

T4HH

After spending time with Family & Friends for Thanksgiving, I finally was able to get back to my computer the evening of Black Friday and the Music Gods have blessed us! I can't go too in-depth into each project or song but I will give you my outlined version of what is out there!

Mixtapes:

  • Summertime Shootout By: Fabolous-- For the past several years that I have had the opportunity to follow Fabulous he has always delivered dopiness and classics from his Soultape projects, to his albums, and until now Fabolous always finds a way to stay relevant and poppin!
  • No Ceilings 2 By: Lil' Wayne-- This is what I expected; you can't get more Wayne than Wayne. I feel he could've chose some better instrumentals to cover, but I will say his intro Fresh Ft. Mannie Fresh had me a little live to kick it off.
  • Renzel Remixes By: Rick Ross-- This tape actually surprised me! I thought it was gone be a bunch of 1 minute to 1:30 length songs he did some freestyles too, but this tape had more time put into it and an overall good production.
  • CM8 By: Yo Gotti-- I knew Gotti jammed but here lately he been putting in work on the mixtape end. His The Return tape that he couldn't have released no more than a couple of months ago is still in rotation for me. This tape is what you would expect from a Gotti tape, some good trap hits.
  • To Whom It May Concern By: Trey Songz-- If you know me you know I rocks with Trigga! This tape is another good Songz mixtape. Not so much freaky S#!T, something you can jam too but you know there's still gone be some those freaky ass lyrics(Lol)
  • Before The Party By: Chris Brown-- Chris doesn't do too many mixtapes, but when he does he gives us some good music. On his tapes he gives us a variety of sounds. You know how he does the pop sound(which he does well) but when I think of a Chris Brown mixtape I think of some slow jams like his In My Zone tape!
  • But You Caint Use My Phone By: Erykah Badu-- I am highly pissed that we had to pay for this "Mixtape," but I will not complain because she featured the GREAT, Andre 3000 on this tape!! Ms. Badu did her thing on this tape, the lady is bad and she knows it so what else can I say?!

Songs:

  • Traffic Jam (Easy Bake Remix) By: Jay Rock Ft. Kendrick Lamar & SZA-- I know Jay Rocks 90059 album was slept on; reason that I know that is because some people don't listen to good music or artist only "popular" well-known artist for the most part. Such the Kendrick & Cole remixes(which Imma get to) but this song is one that should be being glorified. I recommend that you listen to the original Easy Bake then this song to get the whole experience of great music!
  • Sad Boy By: G-Eazy-- S/O to my guy Troy for putting me on this track during a recent vibe session with our boy Jordan. This song is one of those tracks that gives you that good feeling, if you don't know that feeling, think of that feeling you get when you hear Kanye's Heard Em Say! Great song, production, and message. We should talk to ourselves int his manner more often I feel.
  • Black Friday (Alright & A Tale of Twin Cities) By: J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar-- I won't lie, they both went in on these tracks but I will admit that I expected better. I know it was all for fun so I'll let it slide! It's Cole and Kendrick so you know these are some jams, but I think people were just doing a lot of boosting on these two tracks.
